Our facility in College Park comprises a teaching kitchen and culinary garden, nestled into a residential neighborhood in one of Orlando’s most vibrant communities.

Job Description:

The Communications and Development Coordinator is a key position within EEE, responsible for developing and executing organizational marketing and communication strategies, supporting fundraising and development initiatives, and managing volunteer recruitment, engagement, and record keeping. This individual will play a central role in increasing the visibility of our organization and programs, building relationships with donors, supporters, community stakeholders, and fostering a strong volunteer community.

Job Responsibilities & Duties include, but are not limited to:

Communications:

● Work with Co-Executive Directors, team and consultants to implement a comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plan to:

○ Increase awareness of the organization’s programs, events, and initiatives

○ Meet and exceed program and fundraising revenue goals

○ Raise EEE’s profile in the community as a leader in plant-forward food education for

personal and environmental health

● Manage social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and create content

that engages supporters and attracts new audiences.

● Create and distribute newsletters, press releases, and other written communications to keep

stakeholders informed.

● Update website content for new programs and opportunities

● Collaborate with staff to produce marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, event

invitations, and other collateral.

● Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.

Fundraising & Development:

● Maintain an organized database (i.e. Salesforce) of donors and prospects, ensuring that

information is accurate and complete.

● Support relationship development with existing donors, potential donors, sponsors and partners.

● Assist in identifying new funding sources and track donor contributions and engagements in

Salesforce.

● Help organize and promote fundraising events, both virtual and in-person, including annual

fundraising dinners, auctions, annual fund campaigns, and identification and cultivation events

Volunteers:

● Support volunteer program, including communication for volunteer recruitment, training, and

retention for kitchen and garden programming .

● Coordinate volunteer appreciation events and share communications.

● Track volunteer hours and manage volunteer records in the database.

● Collaborate with other staff members to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (or

  • equivalent experience).

  • At least 2 years of experience in marketing, development, and/or volunteer coordination, ideally

    within the nonprofit sector.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to craft compelling content

    for various audiences and within brand guidelines and established timelines.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with social media platforms, email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp), and website

    content management systems (e.g., SquareSpace).

  • Proven ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Passion for EEE’s mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    ● Optimistic and collaborative demeanor

    ● Familiarity with donor management software (e.g., Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Salesforce).

    ● Event planning experience, particularly for fundraising or community engagement events.

    ● Knowledge of basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS* 

The position requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time, using keyboards and phones. The ability to see and hear, and lift somewhat heavy objects (15 lb.) occasionally is required. Use of keyboards and phones is required daily.

Compensation:

  • Up to $20 per hour, based on experience..
