Alabama-born Chef Derrick Lewis knows Soul Food. His taste is flavored by unsung Southern chefs as well as his own chef mother, and with the additional ingredient of classical training, he’s ready to serve New American cuisine that will cast a spell on your guests and summon nostalgic suppertime vibes.
“My style of cooking is meant to evoke a sense of mindfulness with each bite,” he says, revealing that “the secret is love.” Clients know and love Chef Lewis’s Smoked Cornish Hen, 6 Cheese Truffle Mac & Cheese, and Seafood Boils. Chef Lewis is excited to cater all types of event, including the hands-on variety. He serves coffee, infused water, and homemade punches to quench your thirst, and also allows guests to bring their own wine or beer. Menu creation starts with a template and a brainstorming session with the chef to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. It ends with a meal to remember.
